The big game is here once again, Super Bowl 57 in Arizona. The AFC Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs vs the Philadelphia Eagles, the champs of the NFC. It all comes down to these two powerhouse teams. Who raises up the Lombardi Trophy?
Kansas City Chiefs (16-3, reg. season + playoffs)
The kings of the AFC. This is Kansas City's third trip to the Super Bowl in 5 years. After losing star receiver, Tyreek Hill, many believed that the Chiefs would fail to make it back to this game. However, Patrick Mahomes and company continued their yearly dominance on the league and are once again in the championship game.
Key Players
Reigning MVP, Patrick Mahomes is looking for his 2nd championship ring and KC is going to need a big performance from him against this tough Philly defense. Travis Kelce will also be key in this matchup as Mahomes is going to need his #1 target to step up and torch Philadelphia. On the other side of the field, Chris Jones will need to continue to bring the pressure to this great Eagles' offensive line. Meanwhile, L'Jarius Sneed will have the daunting task of covering A.J. Brown, but Sneed is the man for the job.
Philadelphia Eagles (16-3, reg. season + playoffs)
The Eagles have looked like the best team in the league all throughout the season. The city of Philadelphia is not new to the Super Bowl, as they recently won it all back in 2018. Now 5 years later, Philly is back in the big game with all the chips in their favor.
Key Players
Jalen Hurts has taken the league by storm with his impressive play the whole season. Hurts is going to have to have another great performance to knock off the Chiefs. He'll need help however from A.J. Brown, who is one of the premier receivers in the league. A big game from Brown could spell out disaster for Kansas City. This offensive line is one of the best in the NFL and it's necessary that they come to play as Chris Jones and the KC pass rush is coming. On the defense, Haason Reddick has had a career year destroying quarterbacks. Reddick getting Mahomes down would be huge for Philly.
Breakdown
The Eagles are a stacked team from top to bottom of the depth chart, hence why they've made it this far. The Chiefs have the best offense in the NFL. This is bound to be a Super Bowl shootout.
Kansas City's offense vs Philadelphia's defense is the big matchup in this game. The best units going at it. If the Eagles could shut down Patrick Mahomes, green and white confetti will pour down in Arizona. Though Jalen Hurts against Kansas City's defense seems like a favorable matchup; if KC could bring the pressure, it will be a long night for Hurts.
When teams are this good and this even, it all comes down to the coaching battle. Andy Reid (Chiefs Head Coach) has been here before several times, while this is Nick Sirianni's (Eagles Head Coach) debut. Experience goes a long way in this league, especially in the big games.
Final Prediction
Like I said I'm expecting a shootout in this game. A competitive, high scoring game that is decided in the final drives. Truly the two best teams in the league facing off to end the season. Ultimately when it comes down to it, experience will play a huge factor in such a tight game like this. Therefore, the Kansas City Chiefs will defeat the Philadelphia Eagles and are the 2022-23 Super Bowl Champions.
