Well that happened. I can admit when I'm wrong and I was wrong. Jake Paul finished Ben Askren in the first round. After a lackluster first couple of hours, the ending was very anticlimactic to say the least. What went wrong?
The Event
This might be an overreaction, but that whole event was probably the worst "PPV" I have witnessed. I tuned into watch the sport I love, boxing, and I got several long concerts and a slap fight hosted by Ric Flair. I wish I was making that up, but I am not. I could go on and on about the actual event, but I'll plead the fifth.
Paul vs Askren
The moment we were all waiting for. Finally the fight was here, but then it ended in about a minute and a half. Paul immediately looked sharp. Jake went straight for the body. All Jake wanted was to set up his signature jab to overhand right combo and he accomplished that.

Final Thoughts
Jake did what he said he would do. He proved plenty of people like myself wrong. I predicted Ben would survive the first couple of rounds and then take over. That was completely wrong. Ben seemed to underestimated Paul since he tried to walk through shots instead of using head movement and just better defense. Jake proved that he can fight a professional fighter. Is Ben a good boxer? No, but Jake beating him is still an accomplishment. Does Jake need to prove that he can fight an actual boxer? Yes he does because his resume so far doesn't look all to impressive. Nonetheless, you can't help, but give your props to Jake. Congrats to Jake Paul on a great performance and I'm interested on who's next.
